The pleasant warm summer weather and occasional rain are everything the local Timothy grass could hope for. This weather results in prolific pollen production by the grasses across the country. The pollen grains released from grass are tiny and float about in the air. They attach to our skin, hair and clothing. Its when they get into the eyes, nose and lungs that they cause havoc with hay fever sufferers. Prepare yourself for hay fever by taking a non-sedating antihistamine tablet once a day from now until end of the month, shower, washing pollen off the body and hair and change your clothing at the end of the day. Remain indoors at 11.00am and 6.00pm when pollen levels reach their highest levels outdoors. If driving around, close the car windows and switch on the aircon to remove pollen grains from the air.
